Hey it's me Alex P. Check to see if on-board sound is enabled or selected in your BIOS. To check your BIOS restart your computer and when it's loading right before the windows loading screen hit either F12 or DEL, it's different for every computer.

Check your device manager to see if there is any yellow showing. If there is a yellow exclamation mark, it's telling you that there is something wrong with the sound driver. If there is a yellow question mark, it's tell you that the sound driver has stopped working. All that is usually need is to reinstall the driver. It is usually found on the software cd that came with the mother board.

To locate the device manager, right click My Computer and then click properties. Click the Hardware tabe and the the Device Manager.

If the Sound driver is not the problem, then the sound device may be the problem. You could cure this by adding a "sound" card to your system via one of the PCI slots.

Is the on-board sound card driver update to its latest version? Check the motherboard's site. http://www.asrock.com/mb/download.asp?Model=P4i65GV . Also what do you mean by you've tested the sound with your iPod?
