i have a 3ghz pentium D prosser 2gb ram,intel 945 gnt motherboard, the thing is its too hot in the cpu
cpu temp is64,motherboard 57 there are 3 system fans
what can i do to reduce temparature,without water cooling,
because we dont have them

i bought the pc in tescos about 3 mths ago i still have receipt but not the box or packing it came in. ive had few small problems but sorted themselves out but now the dvd drive wont play anything cd,dvd or disc. should i get a new one or will they send it back to manufactuer.what are my rights in this case.please help

Hey guys, recently I've learned a lot about overclocking and im getting a CPU cooler to allow me to overclock my E6600 to 3.6GHZ,
of course i'll be taking little steps with the FSB, but when do you know that you need to up the voltage?

When the computer won't boot? when windows won't boot?
and how much voltage do I need to up? By 0.1v? by 0.01V? (I know every CPU is different, but which voltage jumps do I use?)

what is typical voltage for an e6600 on 3.6GHZ?

i have a AMD Athlon 64 3200+ at the moment and i recently got a AMD Athlon 3500+, except when i install it and boot my pc, my computer wont start, it will turn on but remain at a blank screen.

Here is info on my computer:

the Northbridge on my KV7 went bye bye this weekend, so I am currently on the wifes computer. What is the most up to date Abit board for the Socket A (Socket 462). I will take suggestion for another board that is within reason, Best awnser is the person who explains which Abit is the newest, or which other board to get, and Provides a link where to get this at.

whenever i click on it it just takes me out of the box, shows a little hour glass then just stops. when i use the shortcut it takes me to a password thingy in whith i have to unlock it in order to get back to my desktop

Hi, I need advice on some new things to buy. I need a new processor, video card, and more ram. The ram is easy, but I was just wondering what would be the fastest processor I could get right now. I saw on Ebay some processors that claimed to be 8.0GHZ(4.0ghz x2) Is that correct? Is that really how those work? What is the fastest Intel Pentium Processor right now and is it better than the fastest AMD? Also, what is the best video card to get right now? I am trying to run Microsoft Flight Simulator X at full graphics and I need a new processor and video card. Please tell me if these x2 processors are a scam and not really 8.0 GHz... Thank you

I've got a 32bit, quad core, 1066 BUS, computer. It currently has 4GB (1X4) 800MHZ DDR2. My HP 8100y computer says I can put up to 8GB RAM. The BIOS recognizes each DIMM, but Vista says it only sees 3.4 GB (which is another concern - why?)

I work heavily with large digital photos, and also with creating my own DVDs, so there is some heavy rendering involved.

If I were to upgrade memory...

- Would I see any performance increase?
- Do I have to get 4 - 2GB DIMMs?
- Would 4GB of 1066 be better (if it can take it)?
- Why does Vista only recognize 3.4GB?
(is it not using it all?)
- Would I see any difference in a better Video Card?
(Currently it's a NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS w/256MB)

*** I am NOT a Gamer ***

How do I know if my apps are taking advantage of all this hardware?

It's a pretty zippy machine, but time is money and if I can increase it's performance (aside from getting another computer), without a huge cost, it would save me time.

It's running Vista Premium

I have no idea how to get this computer to work in normal mode ..... it only lets me start up in safe mode . When I try to start it in normal mode windows doesnt load and the computer just restarts on its own. Any ideas?

i just bought a compaq desktop yesterday and was wondering if it should come with a windows vista cd or recovery disc of some sort cos all i got were 2 dvd rewritables
also, is it ok to create more volumes on the disk while it is updating or should i do that before or after?

I forgot my password for my computer so im trying to start in safe mode by going through F8. But when I choose Safe Mode it just keeps going back to the screen that gives the options of Safe mode, safe mode netwoking..etc..why is it i cant get it into safe mode?
