Desktops - June 2007

I have a 200gb sata hard drive & the problem is that even aftar a fresh format windows reconizes the hard drive as capacity 187gb which is normal, But it says it only has 120gb free space left & windows does not use that much space !!
The bios reconizes the hard drive as 200gb ,When i installed windows i used a raid driver by pressing F6 & inserting the floppy the raid driver was on the motherboard cd , & alls i have done is plugged the sata hard drive in.. plug & play .... please help thanks.

The stats I would like to have on my computer are:
Intel Pentium IV Processor 2 Ghz +
512 to 1000MB of System Ram
8x DVD - Rom Drive
ATI x600 series +, ATI Radeon 9500 series +, NVIDIA GeForce FX series or NVIDIA GeForce 6200 series +
That is what I need.
For the Video Card I would like ATI X800 series, NVIDIA GeForce 6800 series, or higher video card.

I need a Computer that i can play the new good RPG's, Strategy games and MMORPG's - any advice about which games i should get with the computer you recommend would be appreciated. Check the minimum required stats for Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion ifyou are unsure about what i need. I would love it if you could find something in the $300 - $400 range. That's what i got to work with.

Ok I killed my cpu and motherboard and have to get new ones. I have the rest of the system ok.
Sata hard drive.
Pci
Ddr2 184 pin memory
Original dell PC 2.4 ghz Intel
No video card, but want to get one.
I don't want to spend to much. Prob <300.
With all the core duo out there? Should I get one?
I don't want it for gaming but I wacht a lot of movies on it.

i need a little guidance here.

i have an hcl branded desktop computer 2.66 ghz intel processor with gigabyte(8I865GVMK-775)

motherboard with onboard intel graphics engine and on board sound.
i want to put a tv tuner card in my system, to see all the channels that comes in to my tv, in my

pc. i have a cable tv connection in my house.

But the problem is that i dont know a bit about these tv tuner cards and their technology. so need

a little guidance here because i want to sure that i should be able to see all cable tv channels

in my pc.

1) So i want to know what kind of things i need to check in a tv tuner card so that i can and must

see all my cable tv channels like what technical specifications or kind of signalling i need to

check that it supports,i dont know that cable tv signal is an analogue or digital?

2)Do i need to ask anything from my cable tv provider like any tech details etc. or i can simply

go to the market buy any latest card ,insert it in system,hook my cable tv wire and it will work?

3)As i little know about them ,should i go for external or internal tv card,which one is better?

4)plzzz suggest me some brands and their model nos. of cards to choose from which are cheap n best

ie value for money.

so brothers plzz educate me anything and everything that i need to check before buying the card to

make sure that it will let me see all my cable channels.

my pc keep saying that windows explorer has stop working---------window is checking for solution on this problem. I can get into the websites, but it takes me a while because that msw sign is blinking like crazy. I can not delect any programs off my pc, because stupid sign is blinking. It has taken over the pc like cancer. We do not have a back up because we had just gotten the pc not long ago. The sign is still blinking. It is slowing down ever program.. i used those specs and my computer keeps restarting after a month i used it. the first month it was running ok, then entering 2nd and 3rd month it keeps restarting. i was wondering whether it was because the thermal compound, or the PentiumD-MSI 7255 combination that makes the computer restart?

Installing new operating system on new hard drive for new build
i think that i might run in to some problems cuz all system compoents are new. how will i be able to install the windows xp, cd i got. after i get the new build together will it just install itself after i put it in the cd-rom? and install itself? and is there anything i should know before Advice , Suggestions?????

I installed a new video card in my pc.The reason was when I watch videos,on parts that had fast motion, the video would be choppy.I bought a Geforce fx5500.the videos play better but are still a little choppy.My question is should I set the settings for performance or quality in the video card settings to fix this problem...my system specs are:

After using system restore I have my computer up and running again. However when my computer starts up it says "This application has failed to start because w32n50.dll was not found. Reinstalling this application may fix the problem." The computer works fine except for this box I have to close every time I start up. Should I be concerned? What can I do? How can I reinstall w32n50.dll? Thank you for your time.

What is the difference between AMD and Intel processors. What is the difference between the AMD processors Athalon and Sempron? I need a laptop for school that I will also use for internet and downloading music. Im a freshman in college. I am just completely unsure of which is better.

Remember not so long ago PCs were IBMs mostly and if not, they were IBM clones?
Do you feel like nowadays they are not so much "PCs" (along with macs as two separates) but as Windows based machines?
As microsoft taken over for IBM in term of computer familiarity to customers?
