I installed a new video card in my pc.The reason was when I watch videos,on parts that had fast motion, the video would be choppy.I bought a Geforce fx5500.the videos play better but are still a little choppy.My question is should I set the settings for performance or quality in the video card settings to fix this problem...my system specs are:
3.0 ghrz cpu
1 gb ram
using windows media player 11
thank you

Video cards don't actually help on viewing videos...

It's probably a software problem of some sort. When watching videos on Real player after playing a game without restarting my computer it's really choppy. I have no idea why, but maybe you have some similar problem.

Also, to people suggesting other video cards, he probably only has a PCI slot, meaning he doesn't have a whole lot of upgrade options.

The GeForce FX series is pretty old.. for an inexpensive but good gfx card by GeForce, try the GeForce GS or GT series.
