Almost sounds like my mobo, mine is a biostar thats close to 7 years old and I haveAMD 1.2ghz duron processor and my mobo can see only 1 gig of DDR 333mghz memory, But I have 2 gigs of memory. Does that help you? You can get real cheap memory at tiger.

Sounds like it might be Sdram, you probably have two slots. Try this, download CPU-Z from CPUID.com It's a tiny program that'll tell what your processor, motherboard, chipset, ram memory, graphics chip, etc. is inside your computer, or if you just want info on the ram go to Crucial.com, download their Memory Calculator.

Look at the ram in there now. My guess is that it's PC100 DRAM. Not likely to be DDR. The good news is that upgrading should be fairly cheap. Check out the link. Great prices on all things computer.

There are about 40 different kinds of memory for the X86 series. I will need to know what brand and model number pc you have to be able to define what memory you need. If you can't seem to find that, take your computer to any tech store and they will upgrade it for you.

Try this, this is what I did too. I have an older Compaq Presario 5000. I found a website it is "powerleap.com" there on this site is a tool, click on it, it will tell you everything you need to upgrade your computer, and it even includes a cost estimating calculator. I loved it, got my system upgraded using the the tools results, I am sooooo happy. remember.

Go to this web page and it will explain all about ram.
You need to take a look at the RAM stick you have installed and compare it with the pictures on the web site.
