i have 2 RAM slots.
ok i have a celeon running at 3.3 ghz with 512 of RAM. The question is should i get 512mb or get a stick of 1gb of RAM for the extra slot. I heard your comp will run well if you have 256, 512, 1gig, 2gig. but is having 1.5gig making your comp run fine?

i play games like doom 3, call of duty 2

I have a Dell PC- dimensions desktop 8100. The computer itself is in pretty good condition but it's running on windows ME edition which I beleive is the reason it's freezing up, blue screens, program errors, etc. I just recently wiped the hard drive and reinstalled windows. I think I'd like to upgrade my operating system but then I start to think that I'd also like a dvd drive (which this pc doesnt have) and I'm also concerned that a new operating system won't run very well on an older computer. Should I just get an upgrade (windows xp, etc) or should I wait and save enough money for a new computer?

I just bought a computer system which has 512M of RAM and had option for free upgrade tp 1G. The sales guy told me I would be better off with the 512Mb as the 1 Gb he said was slower memory and unless I was going to have over 8 applications open at once, that the 512 Mb would be faster. Is this possible?

I was asking questions on yahoo previously and people suggested it must be the video card so I purchased another one but still nothing shows on the screen. The computer (dell optiplex gx270) is on and things sound normal. and I tried two working monitors. I'm really scared I've lost any way to get my files back. I would apreciate any help. Thanks so much.

I am planning to put a desktop togather for myself. but cant figure out which motherboard to choose. i am going for AMD Athlon 64 4600+ AM2 with atleast 1 GB ram. i am not making this system for gaming so there will be no OC. i am leaning more towards Asus M2N-E motherboard because of its reviews on newegg but i have heard good things about MSI and Gigabit too. what is your take on it?

Well, I have to set up my PC again for some reason. But I don't want to lose all my music and files on it. So can I just drag all the files that I want to save to my flash drive, then set up the computer, and put all the data back on after the setting up?

And also, will the i-tune accept the songs from my flash drive?

Thank you for answering!

My computer wont start! I have no speakers connected to my motherboard (asus p5v-vmdh) so i cant determine the main problem by the post beeps. i have removed the dvd drive and hard drive to narrow the cause. So all i have connected now are the power supply, processor and heatsink, motherboard, 2 sticks of 512mb ram and a few case fans. I get no display on screen and when i switch it on the fans (including cpu fan) start but turn off within a matter of seconds. The heatsinks clips have broken and im not sure if it is correctly fitted. Im getting a new heatsink and psu tomorrow. Will this resolve my problem? My computer was working previously untill i inserted a graphics card (i was previously using the intergrated) and all this trouble began (back than i hadnt broken the clips on my heatsink). Any help would be very much appreciated and i will try to add more info when possible... Many thanks in advance!

I have 1GB memory installed on my computer and all of my slots are full. I was wondering if replacing a memory stick with a larger one would affect anything like storage losses. I know Memory is RAM so its flushed as soon as I shut down, but I'm not sure if there is anyhting permanently installed on there if I swap them.
