I had an old computer and wanted to up date it, so I bought a new hard drive and processor. Got everything together but now my computer only sees some of the hard drive, not even half of it. What can I do to make it see all the hard drive. This new hard drive will be the only hard drive. Thank you.

I have had my eMac for a little over a year now, and I love it (don't try and convince me otherwise, I hate PCs). But lately it has been getting pretty slow, apps taking longer to start, stratup is longer etc. I already cleard up space on my system hard disk (I have about 47 GB available) and I even run matinence scripts all the time, as well as clean my caches and everything, but it still goes slow. What can I do!? please help.

I have a Dell Dimension 8100, Windows ME. Most DVDs are recognised & played fine but some DVD copies I have aren't even recognised by the computer - it doesn't show the title in 'My Computer', just says "please insert disk" if I double click on D drive. Why??
These copies work perfectly on my more modern Dell computer, Windows XP.

I had to take my Dell computer in for repairs a while back. They said the fan burned out and burned out the power supply. I had to buy a new power supply (3Y147 Power Supply,160W,Power Factor Correction, Serial ATA Liteon). They had to wipe out everything and reinstall all the software. I brought it home and the speakers don't work. The connections have been checked and they're connected properly and I've already checked that the speakers themselves work. I don't want to pay to have it fixed again and would like to try to fix it myself. So, what is causing my computer to not have sound and what do I need to do to fix it?

I've put in almost every game I own and nothing works. My comp doesn't even know that something is in it. I've restarted it, I've gone to Explore from the Start menu and looked under the D: drive (still, it shows nothing), and I've even gone on Task manager and tried to see if any unusual tasks were running. It's not hooked up to the internet, so it doesn't have a virus. And when I put a CD in, I can hear it spinning and everything. But a few seconds later it stops and nothing happens. I really don't want to have to take it in to fix it, because that would be a pain and I don't have that much money. Any ideas on how to fix it?

My computer has been making a loud humming noise, I checked all the fans, and made sure there were no cds spinning, But it definetly sounds like it is coming from the Heat sink. I was wondering if i can disconnect the heat sink and start up the computer to see for sure if this is the problem.

I came across an old spare hard drive, so i hooked it up on my computer to see how much storage capacity it had. It had a lousy 500 mb. So i reinstalled my original one that had alot of my media files (approx 200), but now i can only find about 27 of them??? I did a search for all media files, but no luck. Is there anything i can do to get them back? How?

My computer is really slow. It has 512mb of ram, 80gb hard drive, and amd sempo\ron 3000+ precessor. I scaned it with ad-aware and spybot s & d and deleted all infections but it is still slow. I also defragmented and clean hard drive but still slow. WHat should I do to speed it up?

We got our computer in 2001. Emachines Model T2482, 254mbRAM (Emachines lied said 256mb), 80gb hd, 10/100mb broadband w/ aol

So here's the story: Our computer has always been slow but we got used to it and it became normal to us. In August our warranty was about to wear out. We thought we would take it down to Best Buy (where our warranty was from) and it would come back the speed of lightning- everything fixed. Abouta month later we got it back and it was slow as crap. They told us we had to have Norton and SpySweeper on it. We payed 100 smackers for it. Spy sweeper doesn't work, it freezes up. Norton does. Also it has a mind of it's own. I't likes to shut off the mouses PS/2 port and make the cursor dart all over the screen. We shut it down about once or twice a day because it freezes up. What is wrong. Norton says we don't have a virus. MS employees and other people PLEASE HELP!

I built my computer about 14 months ago. About 2 months ago the power supply died and it wouldnt turn on. Well I installed a new power supply, except now every time I turn it on I have to move a jumper on the motherboard, turn it on, turn it off, move the jumper back, and only then will it completely boot up. What is going on? This is a huge pain. Thank you.

I am going to be building a gaming computer (dual NVIDIA 7950gt, 2GB RAM,
48x optical drive, 320GB hard drive, 680watt PSU, A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo) and i was wondering which of the following would be a better gaming processor. An AMD Athlon64 4000+ San Diego 2.4GHz, or an AMD Opteron 152 Venus 2.6 GHz. Both will be socket 939 and Single-Core.
