Right Now, is the best time to buy a new computer. I bought a computer two weeks ago, and I got some great deals. It was a windows XP windows media center, with a17 in. monitor and mouse for $399.00. I had a $100.00 rebate on the monitor, and a $150.00 rebate on the computer. I also got a free update for windows vista, when it comes out on January 29th...It was at the staples store. Here is there website, but I don't know which deals they have right now..Good Luck..>>

I normally have not noticed any best time to buy computers. I usually check CompUSA or refurbdepot.com until I find the deal I like along with financing. If there is a good time to buy a computer it seems to be back to school time and I usually see 18-24 same as cash financing. In February CompUSA offers 36 month financing. However prices might not be a bargain.

I got mine right after Christmas last year - right when a lot of people are returning to school from the holidays.

I would think now. Sales are going on because of christmas shoppers. They have some great deals out there right now.

the longer you wait, the better deal you'll get. generally look for end of quarter sales when companies need to make a profit

IMO, building one is your best bet. I built mine for less then $500 and runs fine. Buying one like mine would cost $900-1200 dollars.
