I will be using the computer and it will all of a sudden go into sleep mode. I am running Windows xp home version. The computer is a Compaq Presario model sr1055cl...can anyone help?

It could be that u may have ur compac on stand by mode and it could also be that if its a laptop its battery could be worn out I had that problem and if that isnt it I have a book called microsoft windows xp insideout

It could be overheating. Make sure all the fans/vents are clear (check for dust) and move it somewhere else if it is in direct sunlight.

your bats could be getting low,,
if this is not the problem cause your plugged into the mains check out your bios setting,, could be set to power down after so many minutes
