When I log off of or turn my computer off it goes to the modified theme and doesnt remember where my icons or toolbars were I was in the regestry a little while back but not in those configutations. HELP!

I am really good on computers and am an IT for Chase (Bank One) and kind of have to edit the reg.) but this only happend to one computer (and cant do system restore alot of valuble "crap")

Dan- Great Idea but it did't work I created an new account, renamed the old one and the file wan't protected!

The profile info that you are after is not in the registry. It is stored in your user profile in a file called ntuser.dat
It sounds like the file is corrupt or possibly write protected. Have you tried to log on as a different user, and see if the settings stay as you set them after log off? If they do, then you can rename your failing profile (while logged on as Administrator), then log on again and let the system recreate a new profile for you. Remember that your favorites, etc are in that re-named profile.

You are ganna have to do a system restore on this one for sure. Editing the registry is real tricky and not usually a good idea..
