I'm going to get a dvd-rom (x16) with a sata interface, does it matter if I'm running off of raid stuff instead?

My start bar that is green and in the lower left of the screen isn't showing, including with the other things.
So the whole bottom of my screen isn' showing...
how do I get it back?

Hello! I'd like to buy a laptop up to £1300. I will use it mainly for work (word, powerpoint...) but also to watch films, to listen to the music or to store my photos...
Which criteria you think I should look at before buying it? Which model would you buy? I quite fancy the Sony laptops, do you think they are good?
Finally, I am a foreigner and I don't really know where to go to buy it (in a department store, by internet...)? Which place is the best to have advises and to go back if there is any problem.

My computer is definitely in need of being wiped clean, but I seem to have lost the Windows XP operating system disc. I called customer support and it would cost me $99 for a new XP disc! Is there anyway I can clear the corrupted files off my computer without having to buy a new operating system disc? Thanks.

ok see i have 2 laptops, a 2yr old gateway 1.3 ghz celeron procesor with 2 gig RAM (recently upgraded from 256mb to 2gig) and i have a 1yr old vaio laptop 1.73 ghz pentium with 1 gig RAM. My gateway seemed to improve by alot since i upgraded it from 256 mb to 2 gig ram, now i can play my games better and make my movies and do all that crap now but its still not as good as my Vaio. I noticed that my vaio had a slightly better processor. Will upgrading my gateway's processor into a 2ghz pentium make it run faster? or do i need a bigger hardrive? and also my gateway seems to heat up very fast, i usually have to let it rest after 2 hours. does it need a new fan?

I have a Compaq Presario 5000 and I'm thinking about buying a firewire card so that I can put my stuff from my video camera on the PC. First of all, would I be able to do this? If so, I'm confused to where the card would be installed (ie: back, front, etc). Finally, if you happen to know, which card do you recommend. the side is poping out everytime i pop it back into place it pops back out!!!!!!or if i pop it back into and i close the computer it pops out on the side there is a lock symbol and it has a k on it well it looks like a k....is there a way to lock it into place so it wont pop out?please help me!!!!!!<3

I have a Compaq presario laptop. When I put in the disk for 2000, it only goes so far, then stops and does nothing.
Also, my pixels are640x480. The slider will not move to let me change the screen area. Does this have anything to do with it?

Everything else seems to be fine. But every so often, the entire screen will flash yellow. It's like somebody put yellow cellophane in front of the screen. I notice it when I open some things, like the Internet (Mozilla Firefox) or Microsoft Word. But at other times it's completely random. This next part has only happened once, but I left the computer on and it went idle. After that, I moved the mouse, and everything on my computer screen was the same yellow color! I didn't move the mouse or push any keys, but I left for a minute, and when I came back, the screen was normal again. Does this mean my computer is about to crash, or does it mean that I just need a new monitor? Please help me! I can't find anything else on the Internet that says anything about this!
