I recently purchased a new 22in. L C D monitor. It seems my present graphic card does not support that high of resolution,
1680x1050 it only goes to1280 x 1024. Will i need to purchase a new graphic card to support this or is there another way to solve this? If I need a new card what do you suggest. Money is short as monitor cost me . Help, I would like to take advanage of my widescreen without the bars on top & bottom of screen while watching dvd's . Thanks

I have a dell brand flat screen monitor for years and it was working great. Then a couple months ago something weird started happening. After I turn the monitor off and try to turn it on, it goes off. I have to keep pressing the on and off button on the monitor because if will start up but then black out or turn off again and this process repeats! It takes like 20 times of me pressing the on and off button before it goes on and stays on! It will eventually stay on but only after like 20 times of pressing the on and off button and it's very annoying and as long as I don't turn the monitor off it stays on and works fine. What is going on? I checked everything on the computer and I even reset the monitors settings but it didn't help, it never did this before it's odd. Does this mean it's breaking down and I have to go buy a new monitor or do I have it on some weird setting that is making it do this?!? HELP!!!!

I install a game into my laptop and PC respectively. I can play the game by PC after installation. Why i can't even start the installation in my laptop? The install wizard will automatically close when i try to install.

It is a chinese game. Should i run Chinese Star or NJStar when install the game? If i don't, will it affect the dialouge between the characters? I mean the chinese character became weird symbols and totally can't understand.

I've just been down the computer mall. I enquired about CD writers. New brand name (Epson, HP) basic writers are under 10 GBP and CD/DVD writers are under 20 GBP. I am not sure which to buy. I haven't got a writer on my computer as it's old. What type of user would require each type? What are the advantages of CDs over thumb drives?

I bought a second-hand computer last September. It's been fine. I'd like to know how old it is. In fact, my question is probably flawed as it's probably composed of various bits of differing ages. How can I find out? The hard drive has the description ST313620A. The case is of a Fujitsu C3/50L.

windows XP SP2

Kinda low isnt it
but it cant be the reason of hanging up

when my computer hang all I can do is to shut it down
ctrl+alt +delete is not working either when it freezes

I'm getting a motherboard that can support two PCIe SLI graphics cards both at 16X . I want some REAL power for gaming and graphics programs but don't want to spend heaps. Am I best off getting two cheaper cards (eg. Geforce 7600GT)or one expensive one ( eg. Geforce 8800GT)?

I bought a new PC 4 days ago and it had like 290GB free from 293GB and today only 239GB are free, i dont undrestand why is this hapening, i didnt dowload anything, i only installed 3 Games and they together take only like 10Gb of space. whats hapening?

Hi,

I am looking to replace the 16MB ATI Rage 128 Ultra video card on my Dell Dimension 4600.

RAM has previously been upgraded from 512MB to 1GB (DDR).

I am looking at buying the GeForce7800 GS AGP but I'm not 100% sure if it is compatible with my system? If not, what other compatible graphics cards would be suitable for online gaming?

I remember doing it (or having the print out) once before but don't remember the command or commands I used to get it, assuming I got it from the laptop. I recently bought a new PC with windows vista, it uses about 700 Mb of RAM even when i am not doing anything and the CPU usage always jums from 5 to 20 or more percent. Is everything ok with my PC? Does vista normaly use so much memory?

I have a dell isperion 1150 laptop. out of the blue it stopped working. whenever i go to plug the charger in it sounds like a fuse is popping and the little green light on the charger goes out. i tried taking the battery out and then plugging the charger in but the same thing happened. i even tried a different charger, but the same. someone told me the converter could be bad, but i'm not sure what that is, can i change it or do i need to take it somewhere and how much would it cost?
