My family and I have owned several Epson and HP printers and we have ALWAYS had problems with them.
Two years ago we started buying Canon printers and we love them. Great photos, no dried up ink or clogged print heads, cheaper and longer lasting ink - they are the best!! That is why the pros use them.
Look at the PIXMA line of printers - I'm sure you will like them.

I've owned two Dell printers and would never EVER buy another, for these reasons:
1) The only way to buy replacement ink cartridges is via mail order from Dell, and these are:
a) outrageously expensive;
b) always slow, sometimes up to a few weeks.
2) In both printers the automatic feeder stopped working a few months into their life. Since then I have to get up, walk over to the printer and manually feed EACH INDIVIDUAL SHEET into the machine.
3) Dell's Customer Service is deplorable, absolutely pathetic. You'll get the same feeling if you flush your money down the toilet and then spend a few hours a week for the next twelve months on the phone speaking to no-one.
I've moved back to HP, which isn't great but does at least work.

To me the best is a Panasonic Dot-Matrix. Mine is around 12 years old and it about time I replaced the ribbon (Bought two just to be sure I find them). Excellent print for B&W. If I want a Color Picture Printed I take on a Floppy or CD to the store and have done.
The worst printers to me are the Inkjets and etc. very expensive to opperate. I guess they good for a Business that need that type of quality and color.
With the Internet as it is today, I find myself sending most things through the Internet. I have not used the Printer in about two weeks and then I just printed an On-Line Boarding Pass for my Uncle and Mom for Air Travel.
So, for me, the Dot-Matrix is the best.

I've always been a fan of HP all-in-one printers, have never had any problems with any of the ones I've had.
All the best.

i would never buy a lexmark printer as the ink is so expensive.
Epson printers are very good and the ink is very reasonable
to buy also you can buy epson compatible ink, which are good and really cheap compered to the originals.

I love my HP colour laserjet 1600. Inexpensive non-oem toner cartridges can be bought at your local stationary shop. Or email william@dotstechnology if you're in Singapore. I'm a manufacturer of non-oem toner cartridges.
