You cannot put your hdd into another computer. the os on your drive will look at the configuration of the computer and if its entirely different, it will not operate.

You can't just simply put a used hard drive and expect it to work without tweaking it first. The hd was configured to your system. So, you when you install that hd into the given pc you need to format the drive and re-install the operating system. Hope you have an OS laying around somewhere, other wise the hd is not going to work as a main drive. However, if you already have a working pc, you can use that as a second drive and and have plenty of extra room for you needs.
Hope this help. ☻

Borrow a harddrive with an operating system and Back-up the files on the original harddrive. Then Format the original (Deletes everything) and Re-intstall the operating system.

Hi,
Computer has not recognised your Hard disk. Firstly check if the series pin are put up correctly. Go in the BIOS settings and test if the hard disk if showing as primary Master or slave and has been detected. Once you are done wit this rebott your system in Safe mode and get it boot through that hard disk. It will work

If you're technically inclined you can download ERD commander on another PC and make a bootable disk out of it. You can run diagnostics from that, or salvage your data. ______________________________________... It's not your hard drive or a loose wire like everyone says. If it was you would have a different error message: no boot volume or a blue screen

make that drive the first to boot up in the cmos.if it doesn't boot after that.you could uninstall your drivers for everything in the old PC. then put the the drive back in the new PC and try to boot up again.

if its not the right hard drive you will have to purchase one but if it is you will have to reformat your windows version on it ...meaning you will have to start from scratch with all your programs unless you save them to a disckett or cd..and you have a windows disc to insert to run it.when you reformat the windows it will ask for the key code to proceed just call windows and say that you lost the old one and you had this cpu for over 8 mos and they should give you a key code but remember yours was already registered with them and do not say anything about different cpu at all
