I own a dell video card running solaris, when booting up the post screen is fine, though anything further, my screen displays colors and lines. Is this software or hardware problem??

With the amount of information given there is no way to be certian if its hardware or software. Try the card in a diffrent system see if it works there. Maybe see if it works in a Windows or Linux enviorment to make sure its not a conflict with Solaris.

I believe its hardware..ie: the video card.
to rule it out, if you can, try this video card in a different computer. I think you'll get the same results.
This has been my experience with testing many video cards.
