My computer is definitely in need of being wiped clean, but I seem to have lost the Windows XP operating system disc. I called customer support and it would cost me $99 for a new XP disc! Is there anyway I can clear the corrupted files off my computer without having to buy a new operating system disc? Thanks.

You can but it would be a very tedious adventure with no guarantee of effective results.

So long as you have the license key for your PC you may borrow the installation CD from a friend. Right click "My Computer" & write down the EXACT version of Windows XP that you have. Most likely it is OEM, but also important is which service pack it is. Your key will only work on that exact version CD.
Perhaps a local PC shop will provide you a copy (with no key since you have one already) at a lower cost.

Email me & I will give you more detailed assistance.
