I heard that Win98 does not recognize P4 processor and in System Properties it shows as unknown processor, and hence does not fully make use of P4's capabilities.

I need the steps or stages of installing a software. I don't know what happens during intsallation. All I did was to type registration number, or agree with terms and condition. Then it copies files to your PC if the installation files are in CD. Then what happens? I only see the progress bar and then I type finished.

I just installed some new software on my Pentium 2 computer running Windows 95 and now the installation is almost complete except it is telling me to hit the "any" key to continue. And wouldn't you know it? I can't find the dang "any" key... Any suggestions as to where the any key is would help. By the way, does anyone know how to fix a broken cup holder on my desktop computer? I hit this button and this little tray marked CD player and a little shelf popped out so I put my 32 ounce Big Gulp on it and the silly thing broke and my BiG Gulp spilled all over my shag carpet in my double wide trailer!!!! Any help would be appreciated.

I have a Vaio FJ series laptop and I've had it for about a year now. About a month or two ago, it began freezing at the most random moments. Sometimes when I open internet explorer it freezes on me, sometimes when I want to play music it will freeze on me or when I open Microsoft Office Word. When I TURN IT ON, of all things, it will freeze on me, so I don't think it's over heating or anything. I've run scans for virus (I have Trend Mirco Antivirus), I have my firewall up, and I've run spyware scans too (spysweeper). I have a lot of space on it and don't have too many programs installed.

If someone could please tell me what's going on and how I can fix it, I would be grateful.

My power adapter for my external CD RW Drive which has a 5.25 volts output was lost and I'm trying to find a replacement for it. Will a 5 volts or 6 volts adapter be a safe alternative? If I plug it into a 1000 m.a. without knowing its capacity be unsafe?

I recently purchased a Western Digital 400GB hard drive and I have a question. I was able to format it and i currently have data stored on it. However, it's the file type of the disk, “Dynamic Disk,” that concerns me. Is there any way to change it to NTFS file format? I've tried formatting it through the disk manager and Partition Magic doesn’t right click on this drive. Any suggestions. Thanks

I have tried every possible avenue to install a 3D screensaver but the result is the same. I have Direct X as well as Direct X SDL plus I think I have downloaded every graphics controller microsoft offers. I have tried the on board video controller and 3 different video cards, my settings are at 32 bit color and I still haven't had any luck. Any advice ? By the way, my system is a Sony Vio desktop pc with 1716 mhz processor and 128 mb's of memory.although I can't imagine why that would matter because I have used my Virtual Aquarium on slower systems but can't now.Advice ?
