I recently added AOL Safety and Security, Active
Security Monitor, Quick Time & Photo Loader (for Casio Camera), and Active Virus Shield. Could any of above cause a speaker problem? Thank you for any help.

Nope, none of them should cause a sound problem... most likely the sound is muted or something.... if not try to use another music player.... or try to play some sort of sounds from control panel - sounds
if nothing works then go to control panel - system - hardware - device manager - and see if your sound card has an yellow question mark on it... if it has one then the drivers got corrupted...
you will need to reinstall them...

Try rebooting first, if that doesn't work, try one of the other suggestions.
