Most new laptops have a safety feature to protect the CPU, therefore if ur laptop is getting real hot it willturn off. Here are 2 possible solutions:

1. try to keep ur laptop raised up from the surface of ur table/desk that u maybe using so that the hot air out of the laptop has a way to get out, u can mount little feet at each corner,u can buy it at home depot.

(2) u can buy what is called a laptop cooler, it cost around $20 or so, its just a flat surface with 2/4 fans .Lay ur laptop on the surace and the laptop cooler will keep it cool so ur laptop wont shut off. This cooler is also called chillpad.U can purchase them at Office Depot, OfficeMax, or compusa.

I hope this helps

Our Toshiba Satellite was shutting off, too. We got it fixed the day the warranty wore out. It still shuts off every once in a while. The idea is to take the battery out and just let it sit for at least 3 to 4 weeks so the charge runs out and the memory may erase. You can still power and use the laptop on AC power (plugged into the wall) but just help the battery out. Maybe seal it in a container and freeze it for a few days, also.
