It's an imac with a superdrive, I can't get a DVD to burn because they won't stay in long enough for anything!!!

Have you done any firmware updates? Depending on which iMac you own, your superdrive may need to be updated. Here's a link:

If that's not it try a different brand of media. Or the Superdrive may be bad or just dirty.

You probably have the wrong type of DVD's.
My DVD writer burns at 8X, and it rejects the newer (1 - 16X) DVD's.

Are they compatible with the drive?
