I heard that Win98 does not recognize P4 processor and in System Properties it shows as unknown processor, and hence does not fully make use of P4's capabilities.

Microsoft has stopped supporting Windows 98. You are right, Windows 98 does not make full use of P4's capability. Though it works with P4 without any issues. You need to make sure that your motherboard manufacture has driver for Windows 98 platform. Also you might face problems finding driver for other hardware like display adaptor, bluetooth dongle etc for Windows 98

in the win98 we can access the p4 processor

in that if we properly install the win98 it detect the win98

2-hard disk over than 137GB
3-some of Graphics Accelerator
4-some programs
5-some games

it does recognize p4 processors...
dont worry i use to run that same S.H.I.T. on p4 when i was dumb, grow up and get xp or atleast win 2k
