i recieved an e-mail helpig me with my dell computer which crashed a while ago and he helped me letting me know i could buy some type of usb adapter. never heard of it nor do i know where i could buy it, does anyone know the name of it and where i could buy them and the price?? this is what he sent me


"Best thing you can do is to take the hard drive out of your duff computer. You can buy special USB adapters to connect different kinds of hard disk drives. So it depends if it is 3.5mm IDE drive, a SCSI drive or an ATA drive. Once you know that, you can buy an adapter fairly cheaply and then use someone else computer (with XP on it) to get files off your disk."

When i try to go to task manager by hitting the ctrl/alt/delete keys on the keyboard its just says disabled by administration, yet i never disabled it.. i can't find a way to fix it.

Since the new Daylight Saving Time has kicked in my computer keeps setting itself an hour ahead. I check to make sure the time zone is correct, I sync the time (I have to sync to the windows website because it can not sync to time.nist.gov for some reason) When I sync it, it goes back to the right time. The next time I start up my laptop it's an hour ahead.

this card work fine but everytime i shut the computer down and restart i have to go through the setup in vista media center again. i comes back after boot up and say there is no tv tuner card. once i go through the setting process it's fine.

I've installed a second Hard drive into my computer, plugged in the power cabe and the data cable. Powered up my PC and looked on My Computer, but it dosen't show up. Gone into Device Manager and its there, and supposedly working fine. Whats wrong?? Why isn't there an icon in My Computer??
Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok my comp was not finding my hardrive so it would bootup so while it was still on i unhooked the hardrive & tryed to hook it back up & it sparked & cut off did i blow a fuse or did i just screw up big time
there is not power anywhere the green light in the back is off it wont come on at all

I was running my computer on Windows XP, but when it started to freeze and jam, I downgraded it to Windows 98. Now, I can't use my external hard drive because the system doesn't recognize it. Why? Do I need to download a driver? It is a Western Digital 250 gigabyte harddrive. The model number is WD25001032. Please help. If you can give me a direct link, that would be great. Thanks

ok so thanks to the helpful people on here i reinstalled the driver for my sound card. But before i deleted it, I remember a multimedia audio controller or something and I dont thave that now. I still have no sound, i'm assuming because I dont have the multimedia controller. So if you know anything please help me out!

I checked the volume control, and everything is at good volume and nothing is muted. The speakers are on, turned up & have power. I had sound, but out of nowhere it disappeared. I restarted my computer and it worked for a while, but its not anymore.
my laptop has built in speakers.
its a toshiba.
