Hardware - March 2007

My Laptop’s touchpad and the USB attached notebook mouse both lag on occasion. This happens when I'm browsing, or when I open a file. I updated the drivers for both the touchpad and the USB mouse. What can honestly be the problem? The laptop had Vista preinstalled on it and I managed to install XP on it. The laptop specs are as follows:

Toshiba Satellite
A135-S4467
Core 2 Duo 1.6 GHz
!536 RAM
160GB Hard Drive (48GB C, 100GB D)
Windows XP Professional

The laptop is a new model; I believe it was released late January of 07. If you have any suggestions, that’d be great; I've tried everything in my arsenal. Thanks.

Controller and a Broadcom 54 g max performance 802.11 g.

The first 2 have red x's through them in the device manager and are "disabled". This does not seem right. The last is enabled and 'working properly"

Should I leave it alone, enable them, or update the drivers????

Im pretty lost at this point

I have the pc mentioned and I have upgraded to 2 hard drives,one 40 and one 20, 600 mhz processor and 256 ram( have another 128mb on the way for it) and I want to know how far I can go on the processor and what are the benefits and risks and how are is it to do and I guess where to get it at a good price.

today I bought a 19'' lcd monitor. It hurts my eyes. i have tried to change color, contrast, etc. has anyone else had this problem? Anything else I can do to fix this problem? (besides hooking the small monitor back up?)

i found a dvd drive for a laptop on geeks.com but it doesnt say which laptops it is for. Does one fit all? Do they all interchange? do they all plug in the same way?How do i find out i even went to the manufacturer and it does say either.

I bought my laptop around 2 months ago. When I open or close my screen (up and down) the place where it is joined to the computer itself cracks really loud and its kind hard to open. Is there a way to fix it and should I bring to my retail store (Where I have a service plan)

Are computer monitors interchangeable?
I gave my Aunt my old computer, but she wanted to keep her monitor, which is from the mid 90's, because it is smaller. However she says that the computer constantly freezes up. I took the computer home to try to fix it, and it worked perfectly. Is the cause of this the monitor, or am I overlooking something?

This computer is not hooked up to the internet, but is in th same room as their security system. Couldthe Security system be causing some kind of interference?

I use Paragon Partition Manager to merge them together. But it seems that I can't. What should I do to be able to merge them together and have my used to be 35 GB drive back to 35 GB (currently it's 28, 7 was unallocated).

Gives me error messages when I try to play it in windows media player 11 and dvd shrink giives me error saying that a redundancy test cannot be completed. It's a Asylum GeForce 5200FX 256MB AGP card.

The screen is black after I insert the card in the AGP slot and start the computer, but when I remove it and cut the computer back on, the screen is fine.
