(ok so I'm completely clueless about computers,so please excuse my poor descriptions)OK.so a couple days ago i went to burn a CD off my itunes and i came back to find the thingy wouldn't spit out my stupid CD.and so after about 3 days of trying to get it out,it's not working to well.How do i get my CD out and fix the CD writer?

DO NOT TRY TO FORCE IT!.

Check if your burner has power. Does the little light ever come on? If it is in a laptop make sure the whole burner module is plugged in all the way.

Get a paper clip. There should be a tiny hole on the front of the drive. The hole is a manual eject in case there is a problem. Just like on the old floppy drives. Push the paper clip straight in and see if it will open the drive.

Reboot your computer by powering it down completely and restarting it. While it is booting and before windows loads hit the eject button on the drive and see if it opens.

If you are using linux you have to right click on the Icon for the drive and choose eject from the menu. The physical button doesn't always work depending on how you have things set up.

Call the service support hot-line of your drives manufacturer or your PCs manufacturer if it is a package.

If all else fails you can take it to the local PC shop but refuse if they want more than $10-$20 bucks to fix it. A new burner is really cheap so it is not worth spending $50 to fix. Better to buy a new drive and use force to get the CD out. However, if your problem is software and not hardware you will just have the same problem with the new drive.

Is there a tiny little hole on the front of the CD drive? Straighten out a paperclip and shove it in the hole. It will push the CD tray out.

take the cd writer out and use force to get the cd out then hit it with a hammer
