Check your ClearType setting.

A. On Windows XP:

1.Right click on the desktop and select 'Properties'

2.Select the 'Appearance' tab and press the 'Effects…' button

3.Check the box for 'Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts', then select 'ClearType' in the dropdown list

4.Close the Effects dialog by clicking 'OK' and click 'Apply' to complete the process

LG is pretty good monitor. Check to be sure windows, control panel, display, to see if correct display settings, be sure you do not have set to 800x600 and check manual of LG monitor to see what the settings LG recommends are. Most on flats must run at least 1080 or better. Also, after that be sure noone messed with the actual LG settings in the menu as there should be a reset button.
