Intel Core 2 Duo's have 2MB or 4MB Cache VS AMD's Athlon 64X2 which only has 512 or 1 MB. Also Intel has a FSB of 1065MHZ vs AMD FSB of 1800 MHZ (or something close to this). This question is meant for the desktops processors only.

Sorry for the last post I ment Northbridge not FSB...

Anyways my question was what is the normal operating tempature of the front bridge? I was cleaning the heatsink and i think i bumped into it and it may have broken the heatpaste seal, but I really have no way to tell. Its running in bios at 30c no load. Is this normal? Should i repaste? I wasnt sure if it would rebond under heat if it did break..

Thanks
Jimmy

I hooked it up correctly. It's showing up in BIOS as a recognized drive and it's coming up as a device in the Device Manager. However, it's not showing up as a drive in My Computer. Isn't accessable from DOS either. I'm at wits end, i plugged it into SATA4 so I wouldn't need a terminator. How can I get it to show up.

I've attached the data and power cord, the drive shows up on my BIOS and my Device Manager. However, it doesn't show up as a device in My Computer. Can't access it on DOS either. The drivers show as installed (and i reinstalled them to check), and there are no errors/conflicts with the drive. How can I get this thing to show up?

I am just curious. I know the answer would most likely be no but is there any possible solution?

Because my friend said he did it.

ok,
I just bought a pentium 4 dell,
it had 30gb hd in it,
I switched my 80gb from my pentium 3 to the p4,
(80gb = windows xp)
it now wont boot,
I have checked & it is on the 1st ide boot device,
& it is set to master, (& have tried all)

all it does is shows that screen to let me choose between ,safe mode, safe mode in command prompt, & start windows normally & so on...
I have tried all,
it wont boot,
it shows windows xp for a split second then restarts the whole computer,

I have also inserted my boot disket & it starts up fine showing I have 80gb in my partition list....

please help asap!!!

I purchased a laptop, an IBM 2652 ( A20 ?) There is a sticker on the back of it that says the following " 802.3 MAC address : ......" with a series of 12 letters and numbers in pairs of two. Also there is a little plate with two screws in it, that cover a compartment. In this compartment there is two little cards that are attached to the back of the mother board. One of them has the same sticker on it, that is on the back of the case listing the "802.3 MAC address: " on it as well. There is another compartment on the back that holds the RAM.

I am wondering what this address sticker is referring to ? I have looked it up on the net and it seems that it might be a wireless network card? If so I can I configure this.
I have a actiontec modem with wireless that I use with my DSL.

I also remember reading somewhere that you can look up the IBM serial number and find out more about my laptop.

Thanks
