Well that depends on whether you want a PC or a Fisher Price toy!

PC has a better selection of software and hardware available for it. If you install Linux you can be virus/spyware free. You can have both windows and linux on the same PC. Macs dont have viruses, but neither does PC with Linux. Macs are pretty and shiny but it's a real struggle to find good quality software and games. You cannot do voice/video over the major IM networks either. If you want an easy ride stick with the PC. If you look around the net you will see dissatisfied mac customers complaining that a lot of good programs aren't released for macs and begging for a mac version.

PC's and Mac's are priced reasonably close as brand new machines in a retail environment.

However, one should look at the total-cost-of-ownership (TCO) when looking to buy a new computer.

The TCO should be calculated by how much more money will be invested in the computer between three to five years of it's lifetime.

A PC will have the Lower TCO. There are many reasons for this and I don't want to get into all that now.

Macs are way more sophisticated, smooth and intelligent. I use both, go mac.

Most significant software is available for both pc and mac, so usually that's not an issue.

Don't believe all the fear, uncertainty and doubt people. And you need a virus scanner on all pc's and macs (watch out cellphones!)

It's a solid machine. Beautiful in it's operation.

I like Mac OS much better. I have been a PC user since 1989.
Some things on the i-net don't work right, like some web-mail. It is faster, more effecient and just nicer to look at. There is all sort of software coming over to mac. I love my mac and won't look back!

depends on what you want to use it for
if you want to have games and stuff then i would suggest a pc but you are more likely to get viruses
i personal have a mac and the problem with this is, some software i cant use because they only make it for pc's. but there are much fewer viruses

Unless you are gay and want programs that can't run on your computer get a PC otherwise get a mac. Most people who switch over to mac are usually idiots

I prefer something with Windows operating system, but you are going to be the one using it, so you have to make up your own mind.

PC

Unless you're a granola munching flag burning hillary voting liberal!

Stupid people seem to be attracted to macs.
