I've attached the data and power cord, the drive shows up on my BIOS and my Device Manager. However, it doesn't show up as a device in My Computer. Can't access it on DOS either. The drivers show as installed (and i reinstalled them to check), and there are no errors/conflicts with the drive. How can I get this thing to show up?

ok maybe your hd is not formatted yet. right click on your computer icon on your desktop and choose manage then go to disk management and then it will show you all your drives ie.. hd's cdroms memory card reader etc.. look for your hd it might say something like unallocated. if you find it right click it and it will give you an option to format. format it after that it should show up in your computer. remember to format it ntfs.

hope this helps you out
