Size can be different. Speed, type need to be the same.

Check your online specs before you buy. And be careful!!!! There is a lot cheap (poor) memory out there. Get some with a warranty, certified, or from good vendor, like crucial or Kingston..

That would depend on the manufacturer. Mostly, the just have to be the same TYPE. The sizes can be mixed in most instances, but not always. Go to your computer manufacturer's web site and find the support and drivers page. Download the manual and look at the technical specs.
