Hello...

I have a 40 gig external hard drive. I have 2 PCs, both with windows home xp. When I move files from one onto the external drive and attempt to access them on the other I can because of privelage errors. I need to boot in safe mode from the second pc, and change the owner to the files. This is a long painful process.

Is there a way I can stop this once and for all?

Thanks!

I'm planning on buying a laptop: either a Toshiba Satellite or a Sony Vaio. Here’s the thing, they are both a $1000, however, the Sony has an Intel Core Dou, and the Toshiba has an Intel Core 2 duo (1.6GHz). What differentiates the two processors? Don’t they both have dual cores?

You know those old electronic keyboards that don't have those fancy midi outputs to usb ports? The ones with only a plug to power and another for output to headphones are what I'm talking about. Is it possible to connect that directly to where a headset's microphone is usually connected to the computer? (the pink input jack). What kind of cable would be used if there exists one? One with a two ended 1/8 inch cable or something?

Thanks

My husband needs a laptop that he can take in his truck. We have a remodeling/landscaping business (also new construction) and we need to know what we would need on the laptop. He would use it for the business only but we'd probably need a lot of memory for invoices, customers info., etc. Anyone have any idea what would be best for us?

I want to upgrade my computer to be able to play The Sims 2. When I play it on my computer now the graphics move really choppy and slow, and they look terrible. It took me like an hour just to get it on my computer. I don't know what my graphics card is or what it is thats making my game run so badly. All I know is that I have an Intel Celeron Processor (2.40 GHz) 224 mb of RAM, and a 30 gb hard drive. What makes games run smoothly. If you need more of my PC specs put it in your answer and also tell me how to get to them please. I'll add it to details to help. Also how much will i have to shell out for the upgrade. I know that its a lot of questions in a question but I'd really appreciate your serious answer

I have a Gateway laptop with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200M Series Graphics Card. I purchased my laptop for about $1250. Its mainly for office work, but theres a game i would like, except the requirement states an ATI Radeon 9000 is recommended. Judging by the numbers at the end, i would say mine seems much less powerful... but i have little experience with the technicalities of computers... so i might be wrong. How does the Xpress 200M card compare to an ATI Radeon 9000? And if there is a significant difference, how much does a 9000 cost? Thanks.

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt: \system32/hel.dll
Please reinstall a copy of the above file.

Ok, what happened was my computer froze (i'm using a different cpu now), after I could not get it to respond I shut it down by holding down the power button, when i powered it up again i got that message. I booted with the windows xp cd, i had three options, enter, r, or exit. I'm at the point now where i've tried to 'repair' with the boot cd but all that does is give me access to a command prompt. I'm trying to get the required file off the cd and onto my computer so I can use it again!

My computer will not boot normally! All I have access too is a command prompt. I do not know where the file is stored on the cd, that is part of the problem or i believe i could copy it to my computer with a 'expand' command...

I'm looking for any kind of information, links, expert advice, general help...
