well have you tried downloading the sound drivers?? or your computer manufactures site and download the drivers that you need also look inside your computer and make sure no AUDIO wires are detached from the mainboard and reconnect them or call up a computer technician from the manufacturer hat maybe the case though unless you've already downloaded the the drivers take my second opinion what kind of computer you have anyways?? or you can go out and buy yourslef a new sondcard your mainboards sound chip probbaly called it quits or go to your BIOS just restart your computer and hit DEL key and just browse through the BIOS and turn it on
hope this helps =)

Ok. First off...depends if your soundcard is seperate or on-board(motherboard)
If you've downloaded all the latest drivers and you still get no sound, and all the audio settings on the computer themselves are default/basic then you probably have some kind of failure in the audio portion of the card or mobo.
Now if, you've replaced your hardware already and your still having no sound, make sure it's not your speakers.
Hope that helps.

Tell us about what type of computer you have. And running the sound trouble shooter should be your first thing to do. Make sure your speakers or head phones work. Make sure they are connected properly. Make sure your sound is not muted and turned up.
Then run the sound trouble shooter. Also make note of what you have done around the time the sound stopped working.
