I just would like to know if the Sims 2 works on a PC laptop computer because I'm getting them for Christmas! Please let me know!

When I put a CD or DVD (video, game, music, anything!) it does not automatically detect and open it. For example, if I put a movie in, I have to go into PowerDVD and hit play before my computer will even detect the disk. I am trying to install new software, but when I go to My Computer my DVD-Rom drive nor my DVD-RW drive says anything is in it. If I click on the drive that the disk is in it shows no files. Did I possible turn off autostart or something if thats even possible? The DVDRW is a Pioneer and relatively new the DVD-Rom is LiteOn I think. Please help! I want to play a game and its not detecting it!
It is NOT the connection bc wouldn't that mean that it wouldn't work at all? It works, but for a movie for instance, I have to open Power DVD and hit Play before my computer will recognize it. The same goes for music. Now I want to play a game and I don;t have a way to do it. Autostart is enabled, but it still isnt acknowledging that there is a disc in the drive.

which one will laster long and play battlefield 2142 on high
HP is cheaper and a better deal but dells good too, hard choice most importantly which one would YOU GET.

Does one inch really make a difference on a Wacom tablet?
I bought a Wacom tablet, It's mainly for college purposes and for when I just want to mess around with photoshop at home. I got a 4"x5" for $69, but next to that was a 4"x6" model for $99. Will having one inch less really work against me? I was wondering if I missing out on a lot by not geting the 4x6 model.

Yesterday i disconnected Pc's monitor and connected it to my laptop and when connected it back to the Pc all i got was Check Signal Cable. At this time my Pc booted without beeps(So that is normal) so i thought the problem might be that my video card got loose, I opened the case just now and took the video card out and reseated it along with my RAM just incase they might have gotten loose. Tried to reboot and i got around 10 loud beeps(around like 2 beeps a second). My mother board has a green LED light on so i guess the motherboard is fine, CPU fan is running, PSU fan is running. Video card and RAM are seated in fine.

I will choose a best awnser for sure!

I was asking questions on yahoo previously and people suggested it must be the video card so I purchased another one but still nothing shows on the screen. The computer (dell optiplex gx270) is on and things sound normal. and I tried two working monitors. I'm really scared I've lost any way to get my files back. I would apreciate any help. i need something cheap and fast. i mainly need it for downloading stuff and was wondering which is fast for a good price. ive been looking at the lenovo 3000 C200 and it has some good stuff in it and is cheap. is this a good laptop and is there anything better for less. This costs $650 so anything fast in this price range is good for me.

i would like to know if you need to use the dis to install the modem onto your computer and if you do, can i obtain the disc through a bigpond store at the supermarkets or do you need to contact them through technical support (which i dont like since i dont like calling bigpond) to obtain one?

I took it out of a 10yo computer. The drive opens and closes but does not show up in my computer. I dont have a cd for it and i dont know where to look get a driver for it. Btw i`m 13 but i know EXACTLY what im doing. oh and i took the ribbon cable and power supply cord from a floppy if that makes a difference at all...AND i`m on my psp.

OK...Well, I don't know if I have Windows XP SP2 is there a way to tell if you have it? When I go onto the Microsoft Update it says there are no high priority or optional updates. When I clicked on a link about SP2 it just took me to the Microsoft thing where it checks if I have all of the latest updates and again it said there were no updates. So do I have Windows XP Service Pack 2 or not?

I opened up my PC to add a firewire card and when I tried to turn it on again, it wouldn't. Like I said there is a light on the motherboard that is lit, but when I hit the power button nothing happens.
