I want to get internet protection. and their is a back up file option on a prospective program, it states that you can save important files onto cd or any where or use your external hard disk drive. What exactly is a external hard disk drive

Everytime i turn on my computer nothing appears on screen and i get 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps. I use the award bios and have figured this problem has something to do with the graphics adapter. Since im using intergrated graphics does this mean that i need to replace my motherboard? (note i have tried using a graphics card but i still get 1 long beep followed by 2 short ones.) The cable connecting the computer to the screen is connected correctly. Im using a cpu, psu, motherboard and ram just to get a picture on screen so i presume the problem lies within one of these components but would like to confirm its the motherboard that needs replacing before i buy a new one.

I have a new printer and I am having trouble installing it.

When I am installing the driver it says that the operation cant continue because the PRINTER SPOOLER has been stopped.

I have uninstalled the old printer.

Nothing seems to work.

Its a digital printer, Canon Pixman iP4300

The Lexmark Z25 printer was working alright. All of sudden, when the printer is switched on, the cartridges holders (both black & white and colour) just come out an inch and go back inside and this movement is continuous. During this movement only the colour acrtridge is visible and the other is not visible. When the hoplders are pulled along the guide bar manually they come upto the end but do not start when switched on. Upon pushing both the cartridges go in and again the short movements as explained above start and the printer is unusable

I recently purchased a used computer. The person who gave it to me did not clean his hard drive very well. It has some things on it that I do not want and yet some other items that would be of use. (not personal info). Is there any free tools that will clean the harddrive and romove certain items yet keep others?

Right, today i got a laptop which i bought on ebay, it is running windows ME. It does not have a CD drive but i want to run windows xp off it, i have the windows xp CD and can put he files on a usb flash drive, how would i do this, how would i boot it up to run the xb disc from the flash drive, please take me through it, thanks

my dell laptop system type D610 is a little less than a year old. It has one battery. Recently (like starting a few days ago) I have had been having difficulties with my computer .The problem is that my batter does not seem to work. when I have my computer plugged in with my recharger it works just fine and it says it is using ACpower, but the batter does not recharge. As soon as I unplug my computer, it shuts itself down. Also, when I turn my computer on, the following message appears.

the AC power adapter type cannot be determined this will prevent optimal system performance. Strike F3 key if you do not want to see this power warning message again.strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the set up utility.

Would my computer be faster if I disabled my second harddrive?
I do have all my virtual memory running from my second harddrive,but I have 384 MB of ram so I dont use too much virtual anyway
