i have just ran all four 3d mark tests(except 3dmark 2006) and i want to compare my results with other users
i have a athlon 3200+/ 1gb ddr ram/ nvidia geforce 6200
3d mark 2000 .....9059 3dmarks
3d mark 2001 .....8025 3dmarks
3d mark 2003 .....2449 3dmarks
3d mark 2006 .....1226 3dmarks

the 3d mark 2003 and 2005 were absolutely rubbish so this has made me decide to upgrade my current graphic card,so with a budget of anything up to £100 what is a decent card to improve on these scores
i would like to stick with nvidia but i dont mind using a.t.i,and also i have a "a.g.p" interface
should i go the whole hog and upgrade the motherboard aswell to a pci-express board sp i can use the pci-e interface

My computer said my disk space was low so i bought a Maxtor One Touch III 60GB hard drive and it came with no instructions. I dont want to back-up everything on my computer i just want more space so i can put new programs on it...can someone help me?!?!

My new PC has a CD/DVD-ROM combo drive with various speeds? , ie, 48X24X16 etc, Should I let the default speed take over ? I read somewhere that it takes 45minutes to format a disc, that's crazy!

About a year ago i had spyware, adware and virus issues with my laptop, I tried different spyware & antivirus removal software but still had problems. I stopped using my laptop all together but now i want to use it again. Should I reformat the hard drive and start over or does anyone have any suggestions as to what i should try next??? I have already backed up files that i need. I have the disks to install the microsoft office suite, i just wouldn't know where to begin. If i reformat the hard drive would i need to reinstall the office suite, i know i'll have to add the printer/scanner again but would it reload the programs that were originally on the laptop??? I'd really appreciate some suggestions. :)

I'm not sure what the problem is. I unplugged everything and opened up the computer and added the card to the PCI slot. When I started my computer, Windows started up and it got as far as loading my programs then the computer just restarts. What can I do?

I have a crappy old Dell that runs very slowly that I got as a high school graduation present in 2000. I need to upgrade! I play WoW on my desktop and would like to play it on the road. My biggest complaint about the old Dell (other than it's oldness) is that it is sooooo heavy! So basically I'm looking for the best lightweight gaming laptop.

looking into getting a dell or alienware laptop in near future - are alienwares reliable, good etc? anyone any experiences of them? or is DELL a wiser choice?

most people i know have sony vaio laptops and they seem to be unreliable so i dont think i'll be wanting one of them (although they look nice)

My Pavilion t720m comes with a D partition that has an HP restore icon and it is about 4GB, but if I double click on it a message comes up saying I should not modify the files on drive D. I would like to bring my computer to its original state and I thought that it was what those files were for. any thoughts?

I just filled my 120 GB IDE hard drive, and I need a new one. I do have SATA on my motherboard and was wondering if I bought a SATA drive, would it interface well with my other IDE drive without messing with a RAID card or anything like that. Thanks

This totally confused me,i built a amd3200+,384mb ddr ram,80gb hard drive,ge-force fx5500
this worked well until two days ago when it refussed to boot,i tried everything but i put it down to a motherboard failure,it was a 2nd hand socket A board so i thought i would get another socket A mobo from ebay and transfer the processor
however just before i was going to take the processor out (and dismantle it)i thought i would try booting it up one last time,and guess what,it booted up no problem
sp everything is fine now,but for one thing..if i leave it off for say"24 hours" ,when i try to boot it,it will start up for around 5 seconds and go off,this will happen for around 6 times(all this time there is no life from the monitor,i.e the light will stay orange on the 17"crt ),and around the 7th attempt the monitor will go green and the p.c will boot
what is stopping this from booting first time,i reckon its a hardware problem,but what do you reckon?

I bought it from a friend who said this occasionally happens, previously the dust could be dislodged by tapping the screen case. There are two dots which are not responding to this treatment. I am sure they are dust because if you move around while looking at them then pixel image moves over the top. Has anyone had this problem and/or resolved it?

one day it decided not to work anymore. its in the laptop and the power light it on it but the link light isnt. and the little green box at the bottom right corner of the screen is grey. is it the adaptor? should i buy a new one and see if that one works?
