This totally confused me,i built a amd3200+,384mb ddr ram,80gb hard drive,ge-force fx5500
this worked well until two days ago when it refussed to boot,i tried everything but i put it down to a motherboard failure,it was a 2nd hand socket A board so i thought i would get another socket A mobo from ebay and transfer the processor
however just before i was going to take the processor out (and dismantle it)i thought i would try booting it up one last time, and guess what,it booted up no problem
sp everything is fine now,but for one thing..if i leave it off for say"24 hours" ,when i try to boot it,it will start up for around 5 seconds and go off, this will happen for around 6 times(all this time there is no life from the monitor,i.e the light will stay orange on the 17"crt ),and around the 7th attempt the monitor will go green and the p.c will boot
what is stopping this from booting first time,i reckon its a hardware problem, but what do you reckon?
