to an extent yes but you will probably not see a difference since in will be in nanoseconds if you want more speed upgrade your cpu and tweak your os. that will get you the best results.

Maybe, depending on how much you have now and what applications you use. If you're only using a word processor, it's only going as fast as your fingers can type, so it would be a waste to add RAM for speed.

If you're using humongous spreadsheets, composing music, editing still pics, and capturing live video all at once, then you are a candidate for additional RAM.

Be aware though, that the age and speed of your processor are important too. If it's an older machine, then it's capabilities could be severely limited.

I resurrected an older computer and tried to use it on the internet. Unfotunately, it wouldn't even run some internet applications, so you have to decide whether additional RAM will be a good investment.

Generally, yes.

All computer programs use memory. Now although hard drives have tons of memory available, it is relatively slow (the arms need to swing and the disk needs to spin). RAM provides another option with no moving parts to store memory, so it is faster for the computer to retrieve information.

When you don't have enough RAM, your computer saves the rest of the information onto your hard drive, which is super-slow Therefore, the more programs you run, the slower your computer gets. When you get more memory, though, that happens to a lesser degree and your computer should see an increase in performance.

However, if you never use all of your RAM (press control-alt-delete -> performance on XP systems to see), I suggest getting a new processor.

My friend it depends... If you are using a lot of applications at the same time then its a must you get more RAM. But if its just a game.. then just get up to 1GB RAM! or WORD get 256MB!

When you open a program, the running of the application is not stored in ther Hard Disk, but in the RAM, because RAM is faster than Hard Disk in erasing and storing data, but expensive as its size gets bigger. Now if you are word user and it just requires 256MB ram you aint goinna c a difference with 1GB RAM unless your running a heavy resource utilizing software in the background.

If all you are doing is word document and spreadsheets, you will probably not see much improvement. If you do a lot of graphics, games, or digital photos you should see a decent improvment.

You need to have at least 1GB - nothing less.

It depends, if you have 2GB of RAM going to 4GM won't do much.

If you have less than 512MB of RAM, yes more RAM will speed uup your computer.

RAM is only one of many factors that determine your PC's speed.

Probably, but the increase in speed may not be as much as you expect depending on the rest of your set up.

It may do, but generally increasing RAM allows you run more programs simultaneously, rather than run programs quicker.

Yes it will, but it depends on what you need it for if you need to make anymore adjustments
