the way i do it is really simple. i plug my laptop in to the vcr or the dvd player using an S-Video hookup. common on all laptops and dvd players. then you just get a simple audio hook up and plug that into the correct plugs in the systems. This is a very inexpensive way to go about doing this.

If your video card on your PC has a S-Video output jack, you can probably hook up the card to the S-Video in port on the TV.
Alternatively, there are cables you can buy that will connect the VGA port to the RGB connectors on the TV (most modern TVs have spare RGB connectors that are used to hook up games like the Playstation or XBox).
Don't expect great quality if you do not have an LCD or plasma television, but it should work.
By the way, someone suggested that you buy a TV tuner card...That's great if you plan to watch TV on your PC monitor, but I am not so sure that it works the other way around (ie sending your video signal from the TV tuner card to the TV instead...). Also I don't believe that the TV tuner works until the computer has been booted because it uses software that must be loaded and running for the tuner to work, so you probably will not see your opening Windows screens and run anything except the tuner. (ie no Word, no Diablo, no Warcraft). I may be wrong though...only ever worked with one TV tuner...

Get an addon video card with S-video out and an adapter that could convert S-Video to Composite. (AKA A/V RCA plug) My GeForce 7600 GT PCI-convey card got here with the adapter (stated as a breakout container) yet even my old GeForce FX 5200 PCI video card has S-Video out. (And stated adapter works positive with the older card.) Adapters could additionally be accessible by way of Radio Shack or your equivalent. you will likely additionally desire a cable to hook up the sound card. those could be uncomplicated to locate. Headphone jack on one side, RCA plugs on the different end. could desire to compliment a Y cable in the journey that your television in simple terms has mono enter. (a million audio jack fairly of two audio jacks.) observe that the image on a usual television heavily isn't as solid as a video demonstrate. utility setup could variety reckoning on the video card, yet i think of any pc video card with S-Video could instruct a image on the television (if related) whilst the pc is booting up. One final tip: Assuming this could be a US television, in case you're utilising homestead windows you will likely decide directly to run in 640x480 determination.

I think you need to get a TV tuner card and install it in your computer. Then buy a cable that connects the card in your PC to your TV

Many ATI cards, like my ATI All-in-Wonder card, has a built-in feature of outputting to TV. I think that would be the cheapest option available.

There are pc cards and converters that lets you do that. Also there are tv's that are ready to connect to your computer.
See this link. This is one converter that is used to connect your computer to a TV:

And the cool thing is that you don't have to open your computer to install a card on it. Just simply plug it in, and that's it.
Hope this helps.
