i have directv and i just get searching for satelite signal when its hooked up to my tv tuner card in my computer and its been doing that for the last 20 minutes any help

i have a coax cable running from the reciever and to a cable jack in the wall and another coax cable from the tv/vcr output from the reciever to a splitter and then from the splitter to the tv tuner card and i also have composite cables running from the recever to the block connected to the tv tuner card

Just wondering....are you running the cable directly from the satellite itself, or after it's been through the DirectTV satellite box? I think you need to run it from the output side of the box in order for the TV card to access the signal.
