I installed a 250GB WD HDD as my secondary HDD.....and I didn't partition it. And, I only "see" and use about 117GB of the 250GB HDD. I've had that explained to me already. This HDD already has about 7GB of data on it.

But now, I'd like to partition this "117GB" HDD so I can store my photo's and video that I've captured to one partition and "my docs" to another, etc.

Is it possible to partition a HDD after the drive has been used to store data? I'm guessing not.....but I had to ask.

I have Norton Partition Magic 8.0 but haven't installed it yet.

By the way, I have not downloaded SP1 or SP2 to my HP yet....and may not ever.....the reason: I've been told it can, and will, mess up the HP (especially) computer. So, I'm afraid to take the chance on doing it.

I have Norton Internet Security and it seems to work OK for me....and far as security goes.

so when I turn it on the computer turn on for a split second and then the screen goes blank. Then I wait and press the power again and the screen goes on for a split second. But it seems like the computer has been on while the screen was off since the page now shows the loading screen. Then the same happens for the entire loadup and when the computer loads up. Email me at ballstar393@yahoo.com if you have any questions.

Thank you.

My shift key recently started sticking. It still moves up and down but it is very slow. I spilled a slight amount of Pepsi around the key last week, but I thought I cleaned all of it using a paper towel. I have a Logitech G15, so I'm not going to just scrap the keyboard. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Recently my pc clock slowed down, like it's totally off. What can be the cause? If I set it to the correct time, the next time I boot up, it'll be wrong again. Please help. Thanks.

When I press the power button on the tower, the light behind the button turns green. But there is no spinning harddrive sound among all the usual sounds. The monitor seems fully functional and it seems like there is no interaction between the monitor or harddrive, no loading of the bios or windows. What could be the problem?

We have a Dell desktop computer that sits on a desk with the monitor in front of it (flat screen of course). When we play games that take a lot of memory... WoW, Harry Potter games, etc. the fan gets really loud. We've removed the panel on one side of the CPU and that seems to help. But in the winter time when we have the heat on, we have to turn our ceiling fan to cool off the computer! Doesn't that seem weird?

the humming noise seems to be coming from the power supply.. I just sprayed my computer out with air... and it seemed to get louder. Can I lube the fan up with oil, or is there something else I can do to get my computer quieter... i can hear it in the other room!!!!

there's a blog that debunks the common story about the QWERTY keyboard. who's right?
http://yasuoka.blogspot.com/2006_08_01_yasuoka_archive.html
essentially, the author says 8-finger typing didn't even exist until years after the QWERTY keyboard was invented, so how could it have been developed to slow down typists. second good point: old keyboards are hard to punch, so did people really use more than a pecking method?

I'm looking at buying this Westinghouse 42" 1080p monitor (Model # LVM-42w2). I've noticed there is no TV-tuner, which i am assuming is needed to watch regular tv. I have DirecTV satellite....what would i need to get to make watching my satellite on this tv possible. The reason i am getting this monitor, even though there isn't the ability to watch tv, is because of my PS3 and the new Blue Ray technology. I want to use the maximum ability this wallet robber has in it. Thank you.

With a cheap printer at just over £30 and new cartridges at just over £20, it seems a good deal to buy a new printer and benefit
from new print heads and a full guarantee and maybe sell the old one on Ebay. What do you think?

Or will I have to buy a new one? If so how much do they cost?
