This answer assumes that you have a PC.

You need to install the hard drive and a secondary. It will than appear on your "My Computer" as another drive like the D: instead of C: but you can assign any drive letter your want. I for example, have an M: drive that only contains mp3s.

How it connects depends on the drive. Is it an IDE, SATA, or USB? It appeas that the Maxtor One Touch III 60GB drive is an external USB 2.0 drive.

To install this drive, you should be able to simply plug it into any USB port on your computer. Windows should automatically recognize it and assign it a default drive letter, like D: or the next available depending on your machine configuration.

If this doesn't work automatically, then you may need to acquire drivers from Maxtor. Go to maxtor.com and support/drivers and select the hard drive model. Windows will ask for this specific driver if the Windows default driver isn't working.

Good luck!

Follow this link:

which has pictures.

The short answer is:
- Shutdown and unplug the computer from power source
- Open the case
- Option the drive as SLAVE rather than MASTER
- Slide the drive into the bay space above or below the existing drive; secure with screws on the side
- Connect the IDE cable (or other data cable) the same way that it is oriented on the existing drive
- Attach a power connector
- Close the case
- Plug in the power and reboot
- Format the new drive

Just add it to the Data cable inside the tower..if there isn't an extra slot then you might have to buy a different cable for it..mine came with a new one..All you do is add it to the ribbon like cable and add the power cable also then you close it and startup the machine...if you go to my computer it should up there, but you use the drive seperatley..hope this was helpful..

I have two 80 gig drives on this pc but they are installed in the tower. I use one for backup and it is partitioned off so it can bolster my RAM. How do you plug in this drive? I suppose you might know a geek or two who can sort this out for you. Good luck.

Nothing more to do dear....Just join your disk(I hope that you know that)and it will be ok. It has many options but i think you need not do anything and this method is fine for you. GET IT DONE....

you are able to desire to easily burn a "stay" replica of Ubuntu onto a cd, and set your laptop besides from cd first. then you definately in simple terms could desire to plonk the cd contained in thecontinual & reboot, it truly is going to boot to Ubuntu. Saves installation something on your laptop.
