I have a sound max sound card that won't give me any audio, but will play music cd's...when i go to control panel and select audio playback device and volume..the area is
grayed out..as in no sound..how can i get music and have no audio for games or internet?? I have downloaded the latest updates for the card...what's up with this?? thanks

Hello, ive been a hardcore gamer since the intellivision hehe but anyway...

So yea obviously its not a gaming computer which the bastard in best buy said it was so yea i know i got ripped off. What im looking to buy is maybe a 1gb RAM card along with a nice PCI Express card. The only problem is that this model only has an AGP slot and the old school PCI slots. So ive done a bit of researching and found that i could buy a motherboard with PCI express capabilities (hopefully something that can handle a Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT).

So my question would be, can i buy any motherboard that has PCI express to replace the current one i have now? or is thier only certain models that i could use with this emachines?

Any recommendations on what i should get to get the best performance is also a big thanks! (new processor etc)

actually i believe that if we set/reset the memory cells of a flash memory unit to all 0s or 1s, then it should not be possible to recover data from it since there should be no 'leftover' information anywhere- as all the information that is stored anywhere is in the state of flip flops which can be either 0 or 1

I have a new Dell 5150 which only has 2 x PCI slots. One is fitted with a modem the other has a firewire 1394 card in it. Does anyone know a cheap firewire & analogue in card so I can feed old VHS pal tapes in as well as my digital video on one card in one slot. If this is not possible do you know a USB analogue to PC kit.

First, I have a 19" Viewsonic CRT monitor that is about 5 yrs old. It sometimes displays so dimly that you can hardly see it but then it seems it will correct to proper brightness. Not the controls. Does anyone know why this would happen? It's hard to believe that a Viewsonic that is no more than 5 yrs old is going bad already but maybe so.
Second, I just purchased a Samsung Syncmaster 931BW widescreen LCD monitor and cannot find any reviews on it. Can someone direct me to a place for reviews? I can find them on just about any other Samsung product but this one.

I want to get a wireless keyboard and wireless mouse for my boyfriend. I need it to use the USB drive... I am thinking about getting the Logitech LX300 Cordless Desktop Keyboard and Optical Mouse Combo from tigerdirect.com (I have bought a couple different things from this website and was pleased with it)

I have a 1280x1024 native resolution TFT monitor, but for some reason when i set it to 1280x1024 in the settings, the monitor detects the settings as 1024x768, and the picture doesn't even fit on the screen?

Any ideas on how to fix this?
