You can try eBay, Craigslist (which will keep it more local) but, with both of those, you will have shipping costs so it may not be worth it. You would be better off putting up signs in food stores, etc or asking around. Please also keep in mind that a used computer may not have the value you think it should and, if it is an older one that still uses Win98, it may not have any value at all.

With the prices of new computer these days you are probably best to fill the case with concrete and advertise a boat anchor for sale.

I know it sounds kind of harsh but used computers just aren't worth much. If the computer is much older than 3-6 months your best option is to donate it to charity and claim the tax deduction, that would probably provide the best return.

If the charities don't want it, then put it on the street corner with a"free" sign at least you will not have to pay to get rid of it.

Odds are, you overvalue your computer. Many people try to sell their old PCs, and I don't know the percentage that succeed, but considering that a new PC that's almost certainly faster than yours is selling for $300 if you look for it, you probably won't be able to sell it for what you want.

Go to ebay, sign in, then try to look up comparable systems - you'll see how much they are selling for and get an idea of exactly how much your computer is worth.

I would place an ad in a local college or university paper or post it on their intramural public billboards.

Students are always looking for PCs & they are likely to pay a little more than the Ebay crowd.

1. Ebay
2. Sell it to your friends and give a special discount.

Craigslist is probably your best bet since it is free. However, in this day of $300 brand new dells you are going to get less then that most likely.

Try craig's list or some online classifieds in your area. You can always post it in the newpaper as well.
