1280x1024 resolution on computer, 1024x768 res on monitor.?

I have a 1280x1024 native resolution TFT monitor, but for some reason when i set it to 1280x1024 in the settings, the monitor detects the settings as 1024x768, and the picture doesn't even fit on the screen?

Any ideas on how to fix this?

check your display driver

Ensure your video drivers are working correctly.

Start > Control Panel

System

Hardware Tab

Device Manager

Make sure your Display Adapter isn't "Standard VGA...", if it is you need to install the correct drivers.
