Hardware - December 2006

The drive i want to install is 120 gig's, with atleast 112 gig's of music files and some video i want to burn to disc. Drive came out an external usb case with a bad power supply, I do not want to replace the case, I would rather install it to a desktop. Any ideas?

How do I tell if my power supply uses 20 pin, 20+4 pin, or 24 pin? I have a 250 watt ATX power supply if that helps...

....but after many attempt it worked. and when I move the laptop it halts everything.(I need to power it agian).

I bought a secondary hard drive for my personal files. My friend installed it for me and split the 80 gigs into 2 drive Letters. One is a 75 gig (for music and pics and the other is 5 gigs for just documents from word. Now I want to compile it into 1 drive. I put my documents into the 75 gig dfrive. How do I delete the 5 gig hard drive and put it into 1 80 gig drive?

i was recently at Fry's Electronics and i noticed that the internal HD were really cheap (i'm talking about the 300GB-750GB) compared to the portable ones. but the portables were selling a lot faster and a lot more than the internals. why is this? is the ready made external Hard Drive better than getting an internal HD and converting it into an external HD? or is it the other way around and people just don't want to deal with the hassle of putting the thing together?

I have this old computer that I'm trying to get up and running for my foster kids. Its a Packard Bell a-940-twr. Only problem I'm having is I'm missing the Power Cord that goes from the CPU Tower to the electrical outlet (thick black cord with 3 prong plug at one end and rounded type triagular piece at the other end. Sorry thats the only way i can describe it. Any one know the official name for it and so I can go to Best Buy or something and ask for it? Thanks

I cannot change it in the contol panel or by right clicking on an image. Is this a result of a virus or something?

So I am needing to know what size picture I need to go all the way across my screens, I am not sure if screen size makes a difference or if it is only resolution size. I want to hook my computer to my TV. I have RGB jacks out of my computer and have RCA jacks out of my TV. Do you know if I can just run a rgb to rca cord? Do they even make such a thing.
