My friend gave me a laptop from her company, rather than throwing it away. It's a Dell Latitude, Windows 2000. I can't install any CD or program because it asks for the administrator password. My friend can't help me, she has the same restriction on her computer, since it belongs to her company. I've tried many password crackers that were free online, and I even took it apart to take out the CMOS battery. Nothing works! Please help me!

I know that Apple provide a warranty but are they the only one? I did some research and it appears Dell do not support customers in Asia.

I have thousands of dollars of pro audio applications that run on Pentium 4 1.7ghz, but need more juice. If I upgraded to a Core 2 Duo (6400 I'm thinking), should I worry about compatability issues or is this simply a jump in speed and nothing more to stress about?
Plus, all my old games... I'll still want to play Diablo 2 until the cows come home if possible. :)

I got a new pc today and am currently downloading every single download available(so it seems java, adobe etc). When I scroll down a page it seems to be a bit juddery as though the PC cant process the speed fast enough. Its a Pentium Duo Core 6400 I think with 1GIG of ram, so should be more than addequote enough to run IE. I also downloaded Mozilla Firefox but am having the same problems with scrolling down the page with this.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

I have a HP laptop which does not have a wireless network card. I have a Linksys wireless router. Is there someway by which I can use any USB driven device which can help me work wireless with my laptop other than having a new wireless network card installed ? Right now I connect to the modem through the wire directly.. which is a pain. I dont own the laptop so I cant add the card. Any help will be greatly appreciated

I'm just wondering this because there is wires all over the place behind my computer desk and they look really ugly, so I was wondering if the computer needs to be plugged in all the time? I'm thinking of unplugging the plugs and taking them off or tieing them back so they cannot be seen. So does it need to be plugged in?
