I know that Apple provide a warranty but are they the only one? I did some research and it appears Dell do not support customers in Asia.

Phillip was right with the Dell International Warranty, its not for home users and its not as comprehensive as it sounds. As for Apple, I would read the small print VERY carefully and even Ask Apple why you want a warranty valid in Japan. If they say they do, I would be happier to see it in writting.

This may sound a bit obvious but your best bet is computer manufacturers IN japan.

Lenovo & HP will offer the option to purchase an "International Warranty" on most all business models. Consumer models are a different story.

Makes sense ... business people travel with their notebooks & need service abroad. I suggest you give them each a call for details.

Go to their websites & find the toll free numbers for your area.
