I prefer if I can connect it without using enclosure, Directly to motherboard.

i think i heard of a pci card with sata support for laptop drives, but i think it would probably be cheaper to buy a 3 1/2 inch sata drive.

It is possible.I can give you a link that deals with hard drive problems. Some drive problems can be easily fixed by yourself using easily available tools. I found the info at http://fixit.in useful. Try this site, if you can get what is required.

Cost about $8 to do that. Is a very simple adapter. They sell many different types on ebay . and yes it will plug straight to the existing ribbon.
