ok i just got my computer rebooted and had a pro adda new power supply. and now it makes a hole lotta noise. the guy who fixed it (my freind) said all the dirt was packed in there so i cleaned it, now all the noise comes out. its healthy for ur computer not bad. is this true?

Without hearing the noise its hard to be objective, but:

If the power supply was truly so dirty that the fan that keeps it cool was not spinning, then yes - some fan noise is normal.

On the other hand, if its really putting out a racket now, it could be that the fan is bad and is making excessive noise - that is not normal.

You'll have to decide for yourself which it is.

No. If your computer is making noise(sounds like it is making a lot of it), you need to address it. If you just put in a new power supply, and the noise did not exist before, then you may want to get a quieter power supply. Usually alot of noise from your computer indicates loud power supply fan, possible internal fan failure(heatsink), or even harddrive failure.(not sure what kind of noise you actually hear). If you still have the receipt, it cannot hurt to take the power supply back and see if you can get one that makes less noise though.
Remember though, if this fan is as dirty as your friend said, then you need to realize that all that extra strain on the fan could cause it to fail if it is not lubricated properly. Also, dirt in any system is never a good thing.

its bad, sound is due to the Hard Disk....


so better check the same before you loose all the data..
