Not saying that they are the only ones I want to answer, but I tried everything that everyone else said...but if you know how to fix this...please help. Its getting annoying...

I put a hi-speed 2.0 card in, and it still says its slow. Someone said I needed to update my bios. I loaded the drivers that were on the CD, I also searched for updates online. I bought a hi-speed usb cord to make sure it wasn't the cord. And still, when I hook my external hard drive up, it loads really slow. Like, 1.5 gigs takes 20 minutes if I do nothing. So how do I fix this?

I'm using a computer my dad built from scratch, it'snothing fancy, justythe bare minimum, recently though I wanted a dvd drive installed so he willingly obliged, unfortunatly the dvd drive never worked (was set as master) then after more fiddling (setting the pre-existing cd drive as master) the cd drive doesn't work. Now, when I'm trying to run The sims 2 through my cd drive I get this message: "The procedure entry point CallWind(small square)wProcA could not be located in the dynamic link library USER32.dll." labled, "Entry point not found"

What the heck is going on? can anyone help? had this problem before? My drivers are reportedly up to date and satisfactory, I've tried unistalling and re-installing and now I'm stuck

I am unable to see my selected background image on my desktop. I can be seen it when windows is starting up, but then is covered up by a block colour (in my case its black), I had some spyware on my computer yesterday, which I think I have removed.
The background colour can be changed, but no images can be selected. - Under desktop properties the background selection is just greyed out and I cannot select any of the images.
Right clicking on an image and setting it as the background doesnt work either.
Does anyone know what the problem is?

My printer isn't feeding the paper propoly what should do?? It is a Lexmark X5260 and the main problem is that the paper won't come down in a straight line like this |_| instead it happens diagonaly like this /_/ and all of my work ends up being screwed up and I need to print somthing very important... HELP!!!

I have had my laptop for three years and lately it has been going reaaaally slow and sometimes my screen starts flashing like crazy. A friend of mine gave me her old computer. I have tried to remove a lot of programs and files, but there are still a lot of programs and files that I can't remove. I would prefer to have a whole new hard drive installed and remove the old one if possible. This way I would know what programs and files have been installed and saved.
