Does it spoil he power supplying adapter or the laptop in any instance , say for example if I have a Dell laptop and I use someone elses' ( Acer/HP) power supply adapter which happens to fit into mine? would any of the two get spoiled? If so please explain the reason it gets spoiled.

secondly if we leave the battery in the laptop and use the power supply.
Does the battery get overcharged through time and gets its life expectancy reduced?

i have alot of junk that i wanna get rid of, and alot of it i believe i should get money for...well it's not junk junk...but its junk to me of course. specifically i want to sell my external Cd burner/dvd player drive. it doesn't just burn music cds. it burns all kinds: video cd, photo cd, cd-rw etc. i tried google but am not getting anywhere. i found a site called itpartshopper but it appeared not to have listed my item even though it said it did...i think cuz only companies can sell there..cuz when i searched through drives, they were all from companies. plz HELP! i could really use the money and im pretty sure its too late to return it as ive had it for several months now. i only used this drive a few times and i have everything that came w/it so condition shouldn't be a problem
do NOT say Ebay cuz ive tried selling that and other stuff on there and i never get anywhere....to me selling on Ebay is a waste of money, too much seller fee.

I want to get a laptop and i do not know which brand is the best. I have heard dell is good. Also Hp. I basically get on Bebo (Myspace type site) and check my mail. I don't play Pc games much. I don't do the complicated programs like the Photo Programs. I am constantly Mail-ing and Im-ing my friends and i mainly need a Laptop for that. $800.00 would be the limit. I have and AMD Sempron 3200+ 64 Bit processor, 1GB of memory, and an onboard graphics, i wanted to add in a proper Graphics Card, the onboard graphics are ok, but not great. What would be the best one, but not expensive. The onboard graphics is an ATI Radeon Xpress 200.

Ok. I used to have a 256 mb of ram. I had problems though so i Upgraded to 512. I also have a 1.67 GHz Processor.

Which would make more of a differnce?

1 gb Ram

2.0 Ghz Processor

My computer, when restarted, freezes up about 98 percent of the time. I do not have a virus or any spyware. This doesn't happen if the computer is turned off and then back on again, only when it restarts after installing programs or updating software like my anti-virus. Any ideas what causes this? I did a repair install of Windows XP the other day thinking that could be the reason, but it still happens. Any input would be appreciated.

I tried installing it through ADD HARDWARE and it couldn't find the driver, so I tried finding it on the windows CD that I used to install Windows. And it didn't find it on there, I don't have a CD for the graphics card, it came with the computer.

my cd drive, doesn't seem to be working.
whenever i put in a cd, it doesn't automatically open it like before.
and whenever i try to go into My Computer and open it from there, it says that the disk is not formatted.
but it says that for every cd i put in, even blanks.
i can't even burn cd's damnit.
any idea, anyone?
