A laptop - in particular if you don't intend to use it mainly to play games and if you have more than one place you are going to use it (I can imagine you wanting to take the laptop to the library at the university for instance).
Also, with most modern quality laptops heat is not really that big a problem anymore (I work up to 10 hours a day as a programmer and haven't used any desktops for well over 7 years. Never had any problems and always had the added bonus of being mobile)

Alot of people Above are correct. More laptops are being sold more everyday BUT it depends on how much u want. Meaning if u can only spend 500.00 then personally i would get the desktop. U get more for the money with Cpu's. If u have More money to spend i would Defantly Get the laptop.

Me. Myself. If I liked MAC's, I would go with the 19" Laptop that they have. It's an awesome system that is able to run both Windows and MAC OS's which can have it's advantages.

Laptop is more versitle but not as powerful as a desktop. Since you are just browsing the internet, a laptop would work well for you. Good luck!

good choice on buying a stable mac vs a crappy windows based pc... i would get the desktop because u can get more for your money... but the laptop is mobile... so if u r going to need a computer while on the go get a powerbook.

Desktops are much more rounded, if you like lots of software for things, go for a desktop, but if your a designer, or wish to use it for one main purpose then go for a mac, mind you, you'll pay for the style of a mac and dont expect much compatibility.

You'll want the laptop. Desktops are slowly going extinct.

Laptop. I would suggest MacBook if you are not a video editing guru or graphic designer. MacBook Pro if you want power.
